Receipts in a mess? Merge them first, then sort them
When bank receipts arrive as one huge PDF or as dozens of small ones, the practical order to use: merge first, then classify by account name — and when you can skip the merge entirely.
Two kinds of mess turn up in real finance work:
- One PDF holding dozens of receipts (a bulk export from the bank)
- Dozens of small PDFs, one or two pages each, scattered across your downloads folder
The goal is the same in both cases: group them by counterparty name so that reconciliation is painless.
The order that saves time
Case A: you already have one big multi-page file
Straight into 回单通 Huidantong and split by counterparty name — there is no need to break it into single pages first.
Case B: you have many loose PDFs
- Merge them into one document with the browser Merge PDF tool (free, local, nothing uploaded).
- Then import the result into 回单通 and classify by counterparty name.
Merging solves "this is too fragmented to manage". Classification solves "I need to file them the way the business is organised". Do not expect one step to do both jobs.
When you can skip merging
- If 回单通 supports importing a batch of files, you can drop the whole folder in — depending on what the current build supports.
- If you only need three pages to show a manager: pull them out with Split PDF.
